Joint Fundraiser Event:
Get it in Writing: How to Write Contracts for Content Development Projects

When: September 27, 12-1 pm PST .
Convert this to your timezone .

Presentation Description

The first step in any content development project is defining what your customer wants, no matter if your “customer” is a department within your organization or an external company for whom you consult.

If you are an employee in an organization, a doc plan is often sufficient to document product deliverables. But independent contractors and outsource companies must also define payment terms, who owns copyrights, and more.

Clients often ask you to sign their contracting agreements.

Do you ever ask them to sign yours?

While I am not an attorney and am not qualified to give legal advice, I’m happy to share some lessons learned about what I put in contracts, and why.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The difference between a contract, a letter of agreement, and other contracting terms
  • How to document what you are (and are not) going to do in the project
  • How to manage change requests (aka “mission creep”)
  • How to set payment terms that favor you
  • Other hard-won lessons learned from over 20 years of buying and selling corporate services

Want to avoid conflict, make more money, reduce employment stress?

Then our September webinar is for you!
