There was plenty of activity at the TE SIG table during the Summit’s opening reception on Sunday evening. Attendees played the word game, Perquackey, for fun and prizes. Congratulations to Emily Kowal, who won by forming the most words(an impressive 40)in the allotted time, Jayme Sagan for creating the longest word, and Deepak (NewGen) for winning the drawing for a Perquackey game. TE SIG volunteers also gave away Ghiradelli chocolate and editing-themed erasers to visitors.

After a hiatus, the technical editing progression returned to the Summit. On Monday, 132 attendees participated in the technical editing progression. While the progression was not a TE SIG-sponsored event, several SIG members presented on editing topics.

The TE SIG business meeting followed the progression. As the 26 attendees introduced themselves, it reinforced the diversity of the technical editing field and our membership. Thank you to all who attended. We hope to see you at one of our future programs or volunteer meetings (held the second Thursday of the month).

The TE SIG leadership acknowledged, Elaine Gilliam, STC Meeting Manager/Communities Relations, for her dedication and support of the Society’s SIGs (special interest groups). TE SIG co-managers, Li-At Rathbun and Ann Marie Queeney presented Elaine with a certificate of appreciation during Leadership day on Sunday.

Thank you to the TE SIG Summit committee for planning our events and volunteering during the Summit: Li-At Rathbun, Co-Manager; Ann Marie Queeney,Co-Manager; Marcia Wood, Membership; Lori Meyer, CAA manager; Sheri Henkin, Secretary; Bernadette Cash, Watercooler Chat Manager; and Kelly Schrank, Senior TE SIG member.

The TE SIG Leadership Team hopes to see you at next year’s Summit (National Harbor in Baltimore)!
