Our SIG was honored for “developing a technically advanced website that benefits all STC members and providing valuable community service,” and for our creative substitution for corporate sponsorship of our website. Instead of using corporate sponsorship, our SIG recruited Rick Sapir of the STC Carolina Chapter to join the TE SIG to completely redesign and implement our new website.

We were complimented on the use of zero-based budgeting. A judge stated “I had a hard time finding any weaknesses as your application and strategic plan are rock solid. Well done, TE SIG!”

Formal announcement of the 2008-2009 Community of Distinction Awards will be made at this year’s Summit during the Leadership Day event on Sunday, May 3 when we will be presented with the Community of Achievement Award certificate. Our SIG will also be recognized at the Honors Banquet on Tuesday, May 5 when all TE SIG members will be welcome on stage to receive the congratulations of the STC president, Cindy Currie and the immediate past present, Mark Clifford.

Our SIG is a large virtual community (2,400+ members) and quite active. As a SIG member from its early days, I am still amazed with our group’s dynamic and growing nature. This group’s knowledge, willingness to share, as well as its growth and evolution keeps it interesting and vital to my career. I am very proud to be a TE SIG member!
